The General Public

For guidance pertaining to face covering requirements for the public, please visit the CDPH website.

Sacramento County Environmental Health Division (EH) is dedicated to providing regulated businesses in Sacramento County with the information, resources, and guidance needed to operate safely and in compliance with state and local requirements.

EH will comply with Public Health Orders and take the necessary precautions to minimize the risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission to its staff and the public during field inspections. These precautions include staff training, assessing staff for symptoms, and providing staff with personal protective equipment.

Financial Assistance

Restaurant Revitalization Fund is a grant program designed to provide direct relief to food and beverage industry businesses. The Small Business Administration application period will open on May 3, 2021. Watch the County recorded webinar for more information.
Retail Food Fee Waiver Relief Program - On January 11, 2022 the County of Sacramento Board of Supervisors approved the Retail Food Permit Fee Waiver program. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA), this program provides relief to retail food facilities throughout the County by waiving the food facility health permit fee in calendar year 2022.
US Small Business Administration: COVID-19 Relief Options
Sacramento County Microbusiness Grant Program - This program is providing $2,500 in one-time grant funding to approximately 669 microbusinesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications open April 1, 2022. Visit Sac4Micro to see if you qualify.

Food & Beverage Facilities

On June 15, 2021, most COVID-19 prevention guidelines were lifted. This means no more physical distancing, no capacity limits, no county tiers, and relaxed face covering guidance for food and beverage facilities. COVID-19 Food Facility Guidance (Posted 07/06/22)

Recreational Health - Swimming Pools/Spas

All COVID-19 related capacity limits, social distancing requirements and guidelines were lifted on June 15, 2021.

Medical Waste

Facilities will be contacted by the district specialist to schedule an inspection.
