Land Use Evaluations (Water/Waste)

The Environmental Management Department (EMD) Land Use Evaluation Program is performed in conjunction with county and city planning departments.

EMD reviews proposed projects such as a subdivision, tentative parcel map, or conditional use permits to determine if the proposed project will meet county and state requirements for items such as on-site sewage disposal, wells, solid waste, hazardous materials storage, potentially contaminated sites and other environmental health issues.

EMD's review may result in conditions for development being placed on the project in order to protect the public's health and environment.
