The Environmental Management Department (EMD) does not depend on general funds for the administration of our programs, so EMD must recover 100% of the cost of program and support staff through fees.
Due to rising cost-of-living and implementation costs for new and existing state-mandated programs, EMD recently conducted a review of its permit fee schedule. Despite the incorporation of efficiency measures, increased costs will require adjustments to existing fees.
