Detention Facilities Inspection Program

​This is a state mandated program pursuant to the California Code of Regulations.

County jails are inspected annually by EMD staff. These inspections cover the general sanitation and food handling practices in the kitchen facilities and the general building and sleeping accommodation conditions of the facility.

In addition, EMD staff investigates health and safety complaints.
